"We have found the La Quinta hotel in Effingham to be very good on a number of measures including appearance, staff professionalism, room quality, breakfast and value. Typically have stayed at a Hilton brand hotel but was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Definitely recommend."

"I travel a lot for work and found this hotel to be one of the best. I've stayed in rooms that cost twice as much that can't compare to this one. I had a King room with a nice small sofa for watching TV. There's a fridge, microwave and nice little counter area by the door. I despise hotels that skimp on bedding and towels, this place splurges on them. The bedding was excellent, mattrees is thick and soft and has plenty of pillows both soft and firm. The bathroom is large with an abundance of thick, soft towels and washcloths. The furniture has a quality look and feel. There's a nice sized flatscreen with DirectV (always a plus). I think the floor is what impressed me most. It's actually vinyl planks that look like wood but has a soft almost luxurious feel under foot. I skipped the hot breakfast to hit the road early but it looked and smelled great as I walked through to the lobby. The staff was polite and attentive, got me in and out quickly. All in all, its a fantastic value; best hotel for the price that I've had in a long time. I'll keep this in my favorites for whenever I'm in the area."
